THUNDER TONER RETURNS, IFL CHAMP SHULTZ DEBUTS AT 145,

BLALOCK AND GAETHJE DEFEND TITLES

Denver, Colorado - RING OF FIRE MMA returns to Colorado!! For the past eleven years ROFMMA has launched the careers of countless superstars of the sport. Carwin. Cerrone. Condit. Ludwig. Henderson. Garcia. Schaub. The list goes on and on...

On Saturday Dec 17th at the 1STBANK Center MMA fans will get the opportunity to find out WHO'S NEXT by Watching LIVE iPPV at either http://rofmma.com/v2/live/ or www.GFL.tv.

Headlining the event will be a battle of two of the top Featherweight prospects in the country. Former ROF Champion Tyler THUNDER Toner (12-3) will be going after another "W" against one of the region’s most dangerous fighters Nick Macias (9-4).

After the conclusion of ROF 41 there was no one more deserving of a standing ovation then Colorado's Tyler Toner. In one of the most amazing displays of heart and tenacity, Toner struggled to hold off a stronger opponent, JR Sims for 3 rounds. In what became a comeback for the ages, Toner stunned Sims late in the 3rd and continued to press the attack until the referee was forced to stop the fight? The entire arena was on its feet and the feeling was electric. In that moment Toner also cemented his spot in the main event for ROF 42: WHO'S NEXT.

ROF Promoter Sven BOOGIE Bean was so impressed he immediately made up his mind to bring Toner back for the next event. "Tyler is exactly the kind of fighter the ROF fans want to see. He has a never give up mentality and is always looking to finish fights, even when the chips are down. He has been a fixture with Ring Of Fire since 2005 and I am proud to have him headline this show."

Toner was able to string enough wins on ROF events to get the call to the WEC and eventually the UFC. Under the Zuffa banner he had 3 wars that were great battles, but after losing two decisions, the talent laden promotion was forced to cut him loose with the familiar "go out, get a couple wins, and we'll bring you right back"

Toner is just one win from that goal, and is looking to finish his opponent Nick Macias in any means necessary.

Nick Macias is known for his hard hitting, aggressive in your face style of fighting. He has amassed a 9-4 MMA record, and is riding a 4 fight win streak. Macias might just be the perfect foil for Toner's plans and also has his sights set on a larger contract. A win against Toner would put Macias in position to advance his career to the next step and steal some of Toner's THUNDER along the way. Macias is coming into the fight fresh off a victory of one of Toner's stable mates, BJJ Black Belt Josh Ford. Macias was able to use his style to control the bout against the decorated grappler, and win a unanimous decision. Macias trains with UFC vet Chris Camozzi out of Factory X Muay Thai. This camp is quickly making waves in the fight community and is showing that it is a team to be reckoned with in the talent heavy region.

Making his debut to the RING OF FIRE and the 145lb weight class is former IFL Champion Ryan THE LION Schultz. Schultz is an American mixed martial artist that has competed in some of the world's most recognized fighting organizations including the WEC, Sengoku, and the IFL. With a strong background in wrestling, several years of experience, and an explosive fighting style, Ryan is a fierce competitor and one of the sport's most exciting fighters to watch. Shultz was always known as one of the bigger 155 lb fighters and will be huge at 145. Shultz started his career with the famous Team Quest in the Pacific North West. But the Nebraska native moved back towards his roots and now runs TRIALS MMA in Ft. Collins, CO with UFC fighter Ed Herman.

Michelle BOBCAT Blalock is quickly becoming a fan favorite at ROF. Her high energy entrances to the cage, and high intensity inside the cage gets the fans on their feet. Her trademark growl across the cage has both her opponent and some of the VIP's front row having second thoughts. Blalock is a Sambo based fighter and has a perfect record of 7-0. She has finished all but one of her opponents. She will be making her 2nd defense of the promotions' 125 lb Young Gun Belt at ROF 42: WHO'S NEXT. A win here will put her in the top rankings and open up opportunities internationally as well. After 3 opponents dropping out, Strikeforce veteran Lacey THE LADY Schuckman has agreed to face Blalock for the belt. Shuckman has a 6-4 MMA record and is coming off of her pro boxing debut, where she TKO'ed her opponent in the first round.

The fighter making the fastest rise up the ranks is high level wrestler Justin THE HIGHLIGHT Gaethje. He has moved through every opponent put in front of him and has a perfect 9-0 record. After his first few fights ROF promoter Sven Bean gave him the nick name "THE HIGHLIGHT". "This kid is a stud, if he gets his hands on you there is a great chance you will be flying through the air. The nick name was a natural because after every one of his fights we have 4-5 highlights for the next fight. He is going to go as far as he wants in this sport." said Bean. Already more than one MMA reporter has noticed his resemblance in style to an early Matt Hughes, if that is any indication as to his future..it is very bright. Facing Gaethje will be Donnie THE HITMAN Bell from Grand Pararie, Texas. The 21 year old fighter has Record 6-1 record and a strong wrestling background as well. He was Texas State wrestling champion, and at the college level wrestled in Iowa under Luke Moffat. Industry insiders are already laying odds as to this bout taking Fight of the Night Honors.

As always the ROF card will be stacked from top to bottom with the best fighters in the region. This event will feature the return of a few fan favorites and some fighters making their ROFMMA debut as well.

THATCH RETURNS AT ROF 41 BRAGGING RIGHTS IN SEARCH OF WORLD TITLE

07-16-2011

Pancrase Newswire

Denver, CO

RING OF FIRE MMA is one of the longest running Mixed Martial Arts promotions in the world. On Saturday August 20th they return with ROF 41: BRAGGING RIGHTS!

Headlining the event will be a battle of two of the top Welterweight prospects in the country. Current ROF Young Gun Champion, Brandon RUKUS Thatch will be going after the ROF 170 World Title against super striker Chidi "CHIDI BANG BANG" Njokuani.

There is no more dynamic exciting fighter in the welterweight division then Brandon RUKUS Thatch. He is a lifelong martial artist whose father and grandfather were both professional fighters. After a short stint in Kickboxing Thatch set his sights on MMA, and has never looked back. Although being known mostly for his devastating striking ability, he has proved his worth on the ground as well, with exactly half of his victories coming by way of submission.

A neck injury de-railed the young star, and after a 20 month absence he returned at ROF 39, where he finished Danny DEE-1 Davis in a non title bout. Thatch then went on to KO rival Chris Holland at ROF 40 in just 19 seconds of the first round to defend his Young Gun title.

Thatch now has his sights set on Njokuani and the ROF World Title. Knowing that a win here will most likely propel him to the UFC, he realizes this could be the last chance his local fans will get to see him fight live. With that in mind and presented with multiple opponents for this bout Thatch simply stated. "Whoever is the toughest, that's the one I want to fight. I want to be challenged. I want a war. I want the toughest match up possible." But once the fight with Njokuani was agreed to Thatch added "Well now its also about bragging rights, he's from Las Vegas, and everyone knows I fly the 303 flag proudly. Denver is my home town, and I will represent!"

Chidi "CHIDI BANG BANG" Njokuani is known for his hard hitting and aggressive Muay Thai style of fighting. He has amassed a 5- 2 MMA record, with 4 of his wins being a TKO or KO. He is the brother of UFC light weight fighter Anthony Njokuani, and fights in the same manner as his sibling. Chidi also has had a succesful professional Muay Thai career as well. Chidi trains with his brother at One Kick Nick's gym in Las Vegas along with other fighters like Stephen Bonnar and Steve Cantwell. He and Thatch are exactly the same height, and have almost identical backgrounds and similar records. Besides the Bragging Rights that are at stake, and the ROF World Title, this truly could be the war that Thatch is looking for.

Making his return to the RING OF FIRE will be fan favorite Tyler THUNDER Toner. Toner is a former ROF Champion and launched his big league career through the promotion. After debuting in the WEC and then getting absorbed into the UFC, Toner now finds himself climbing his way back up the ladder. Toner has shown Fight Of The Night efforts in almost all of his MMA matches and never disappoints. Excited to be fighting in front of his home crowd again, Toner is training hard for his return. Facing Toner will be Bodog Fights veteran Glibert JR Sims. Sims has an extensive boxing background and a style that should bring out the best in Toner.

No one has had a harder path to ROF then Serbia's Bojan Velickovic. Velickovic was the grand champion of the reality televison show PUT KA VENRONOM RINGU which translate in English to THE ROAD TO RING OF FIRE. The program was braodcast in 6 countries in Europe and the winner was given a chance to come to America and compete in the Ring Of Fire flagship promotion. After surviving a long elimination process of over 100 fighters, Bojan was chosen as one of the finalists. He was then sent through a grueling training program which included Muay Thai, Brazilian JiuJitsu, Wrestling, and even Special Forces Combat training. He then fought two times on the television show, winning both fights by submission and earned a spot in the final 4. On June 19 in the capitol city of Belgrade, Bojan fought two times in one night to be crowned the Champion of the series and earned his right to come to the US to compete.

The fighter chosen by the promotion to welcome Bojan to the US is Jason THE DRAGON Lee. Lee was voted the ATO 2010 Amateur Fighter of the year. Lee debuted at ROF 40 with a decision victory over Hit Squad fighter Coltin Cole. With a 4-1 amateur and 3-0 professional record, Lee looks to be one of the top prospects on the circuit. Lee is training hard at GRUDGE Training center preparing for his clash with Velickovi, and is looking forward to representing America in this International battle.

The newest addition to the RING OF FIRE roster is #1 Ranked heavyweight Ryan Martinez. Martinez is a monster in the cage and sports a 4-0 amateur and 4-1 professional record. Having made his way up the ranks on the smaller regional shows Martinez wanted to step up his game. After seeing other Heavyweights such as Shane Carwin and Brendan Schaub have boosts to their careers from ROF, Martinez saw it as the next progression on his path.

With all of his Ryan's wins coming by way of K.O., ROF president Sven Bean knows talent when he sees it. "I have had Ryan in my sights for quite a while actually and we have had some discussions in the past, but the timing was right now. We are extremely happy to have signed the best heavyweight in the region to a multi fight deal." said Bean

Thatch won’t have to look very far for motivation as Holland has beaten two of Thatch’s training partners in the ROF cage. “I am looking for a little payback for sure, but also to keep my belt. It comes down to who wants it more, me or him. This is my house, and these are my fans. I won’t disappoint them. I’ll be ready.” said Thatch.

Chris The HAMMER Holland is known for his hard hitting aggressive fight style. He has amassed a 7- 4 record, with all 7 of his wins being a TKO or KO. He made his Ring Of Fire debut at ROF 33 where he finished Chris Williamson in the second round by TKO. He returned at ROF 38 to face his biggest challenge to date against knock out artist Vinnie Lopez. In what promised to be a stand up war, Holland shocked the crowd that night with a KO victory in the first round. After the bout MMA writer Luke Henderson wrote “At a certain point, people are going to have to stop referring to Holland as an underdog. Every undefeated, or monster opponent that is put in front of the man, is as quickly put back out. This win cements Holland as a real-deal main event draw, and more than a few people in the crowd were wondering when we might see him again.” The comment couldn’t be more prophetic, as Holland gets his shot at the title, in the main event, come April 16th.

Making his return to the RING OF FIRE will be grappling standout Chaun Sims. Sims debuted for ROF in 2010 after working his way up on smaller shows, bringing a dangerous reputation with him. Sims is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu under professor Amal Easton and trains MMA at GRUDGE Training Center with multiple UFC veterans. Facing Sims will be Vitor Belfort protégé Cesar MUTANTE Ferreira (3-1) from Rio de Janiero, Brazil. Ferreira is one of the hottest prospects to come from the country known for producing some of the toughest fighters in the world. Ferreira is currently training in his home country, but will do final fight preparations in Las Vegas with his mentor Vitor Belfort.

One of the most intense fighters on the roster returns to ROF competition as well. ROF Women’s YOUNG GUN Champion, Michelle The BOBCAT Blalock will defend her belt for the first time on March 18th. Going undefeated as an amateur, Blalock is ready to step up into the professional ranks. Challenger her for her title will be Heather Clark, who hails from the world famous Jackson’s MMA team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The newest addition to the RING OF FIRE roster is Jason THE DRAGON Lee. Lee was voted the ATO 2010 Amateur Fighter of the year. With a 4-1 amateur and 2-0 professional record, Lee looks to be one of the top prospects to come out of the region in quite a while. The DRAGON will face Oakland’s Christopher Clark. Clark trains at multiple gyms in the talent rich Nor Cal area, and is a fighter out of the RINO Sports Team.

ROF 40 BACKLASH also marks it's return to the 1ST BANK CENTER, formerly known as the Broomfield Event Center. The arena is located just 15 minutes from both Downtown Denver and Boulder. The venue just received a multimillion dollar face lift and has recently hosted UFC FIGHT NIGHT on SPIKE TV.

Thatch and Holland Return at ROF Backlash April 16
03-10-2010

Broomfield, CO

Denver, CO - RING OF FIRE MMA is one of the longest running Mixed Martial Arts promotions in the world. On Saturday April 16th they return with ROF 40: BACKLASH! Headlining the event will be a clash of two of the top Welterweight prospects on the professional circuit. ROF Young Gun Champion, Brandon RUKUS Thatch will be defending his belt against challenger Chris THE HAMMER Holland.

A neck injury de-railed the young star, and after a 20 month absence he returned at ROF 39, where he finished Las Vegas fighter Danny DEE-1 Davis in a non title bout. Thatch now looks forward to returning to the ROF cage and defending his YOUNG GUN Title belt against Chris Holland.
